my Work Shifts — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Summary
my Work Shifts has no user accounts and does not send your shifts, notes, profiles or anything else you enter to any server operated by us. Everything you enter stays on your device unless you choose to back it up or share it yourself.
Two features use the internet and send a small amount of data to a third party: the optional weather forecast (to MET Norway) and the checking of in-app purchases (through Google Play and RevenueCat). Both are described below. We do not sell your data and the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.
This policy covers the Android app my Work Shifts (package com.themelisx.myshifts_pro, formerly "my work shifts PRO") and its in-app purchase my Work Shifts Plus, published on Google Play by Christos Themelis, an individual developer ("we", "the developer"). Christos Themelis is responsible for this app and for this policy.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following only in its private storage on your device:
- Your shift types, shifts, rotations, profiles, jobs and calendar entries
- Notes, alarms, punch-clock times, certifications and reminders you create
- Pay rates and statistics calculated from your shifts (such as hours worked and earnings)
- App settings, widget preferences and, if you turn weather on, the city you chose and its forecast
- Whether my Work Shifts Plus is active on this device
We have no access to this data. It never leaves your device unless you use one of the features below. If you moved over from my work shifts PRO, your old data was converted on your device; nothing was uploaded.
Data we collect or share
We, the developer, do not receive any of your data unless you write to us. Specifically, the app:
- Has no user accounts and no login
- Does not send your data to any server operated by us
- Contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs
- Does not collect your device location, contacts or advertising ID
- Does not sell your data or share it for advertising
The only data that leaves your device on its own is described in the sections Weather forecast and In-app purchases.
Weather forecast (optional)
Weather is off by default. If you turn it on, the app sends the approximate coordinates of the city you picked from the in-app list (rounded to two decimals, about 1 km) to MET Norway, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (api.met.no), to download the forecast. The app does not use your device's location and sends no other personal data; the request also contains the app's name and version and our contact email, as MET Norway's terms require. As with any internet connection, MET Norway's servers see your IP address. Turning weather off stops these requests.
In-app purchases
my Work Shifts Plus is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. All purchases are made through Google Play: Google handles the payment, and we never see your card, payment details, name or email address. Google's processing of your purchase is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
To check which purchases are active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), which processes this data on our behalf as a service provider. When the app starts, it asks RevenueCat whether this installation has an active purchase, so this check happens even if you never buy anything. The app sends to RevenueCat:
- A random anonymous ID that RevenueCat creates on your device (it starts with
$RCAnonymousID). A new one is created if you reinstall the app. - Your purchase details from Google Play: the product (monthly, yearly or Lifetime), the purchase token and transaction ID, dates, status (for example trial, renewing or cancelled), price and currency.
- Basic technical information that RevenueCat needs to work, such as device type, Android version, app version, language and region. As with any internet connection, RevenueCat's servers see your IP address.
This data is not linked to your name or email address: the app has no accounts and sets no name, email or other profile information in RevenueCat. It is used only to unlock my Work Shifts Plus, to restore your purchases and to show your subscription status, and for our purchase statistics. It is not used for advertising or tracking. The data is sent encrypted (HTTPS). RevenueCat's own practices are described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Optional features that move data off your device
These features run only when you start them. Data goes directly from your device to the service you choose; it never passes through us.
| Feature | What is sent | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Phone calendar | Your shifts as calendar events | The calendar you pick on your device; your Android system may sync it with the account that calendar belongs to (for example Google Calendar) |
| Backup, share or export | A backup file, or the shifts, notes, statistics or images you select | The folder, app or person you pick |
| Contact support | Your message, plus diagnostics shown to you before sending (such as app version, Android version and whether Plus is active) | Your email app sends it to us |
QR codes for the punch clock are scanned with Google's code scanner, part of Google Play services. The app itself has no camera permission.
Permissions
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | For the optional weather forecast and to check in-app purchases |
| Google Play billing and license check | To buy my Work Shifts Plus and to confirm that you bought the app |
| Calendar (read and write) | To add your shifts to the calendar you choose, only if you turn this on |
| Notifications, exact alarms, full-screen alarms, foreground service, wake lock and vibrate | To ring your shift alarms and reminders on time, also on the lock screen |
| Run at startup | To restore your alarms and widgets after the device restarts |
| NFC | To use an NFC tag for the punch clock, only if you set one up |
Retention, deletion and security
- Retention: your data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. We keep no copy. RevenueCat keeps purchase records on our behalf for as long as they are needed to verify and restore your purchases.
- Deletion: uninstall the app, or clear its data in Android Settings → Apps → my Work Shifts → Storage. Backup files you saved can be deleted from the folder where you saved them. To have your purchase records deleted from RevenueCat, email us the transaction ID of your purchase (it starts with
GPA.and is in your Google Play receipt); we will delete them in RevenueCat. Google keeps its own record of your purchase under its privacy policy. - Security: app data sits in Android's private app storage, which other apps cannot read. Data sent over the internet is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Children: the app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, we will update this policy and its date before that version is released.
